In this video I talk about how you can order products on Amazon India using Kotak Mahindra Bank's Debit Card EMI (Equated monthly installment) facility?
Some things that you need to know:
1. While uploading this video, Kotak Mahindra bank's debit card EMI is only available for those products whose price is INR 8,000 and above.
2. Debit card EMI is only available for products belonging to certain categories. If your cart has products that belongs to ineligible categories then you might not be able to see debit card EMI option.
3. Amazon or Kotak Mahindra bank won't lock or block entire amount from your ATM card or savings account, instead your account's overdraft facility will be utilized.
An overdraft facility is actually a credit agreement made with your bank that permits an account holder to use or withdraw more money than they have in their account.
4. After successfully ordering a product, Kotak Mahindra bank will convert the payment into EMI in 3-4 working days. After the amount has been converted into EMI, your bank may send you an Amortization Schedule mail to your email ID that's registered with the bank.
In case you don't receive any mail from Kotak Mahindra bank then you can contact your bank's customer care department and ask them to send you the schedule.
5. As per my best information you are not required to pay any processing fee to Kotak Mahindra bank. However I will suggest you to confirm this with the bank or Amazon as well before ordering.
6. If you'd like to completely cancel an order then you should ask Kotak Mahindra bank about pre-closure charges (if any) in advance.
7. After successfully placing or cancelling an order, EMI on Kotak Mahindra bank's debit card facility may not become available to you again for certain number of days/months.
8. Using Standing Instructions, bank will automatically deduct the EMI amount from your Kotak Mahindra bank's savings/current/salaried account every month, so make sure that you maintain sufficient balance in your savings account.
9. Don't default on payment in any condition, otherwise you may face penalty/legal issues from the bank.
10. The bank may charge additional taxes or GST on your interest amount.
