At 14,411’ (4,392 meters) Mount Rainier is the tallest point in the Cascades, and the 21st most prominent mountain in the world. The slopes of this dormant volcano contain the largest glaciers in the contiguous U.S.A., with more than 93 feet, (28 meters) of snowfall having been recorded in a single year.
