Mayo Clinic Health System: “Special Delivery – Madelyn’s Story”

Madelyn was truly a “special delivery.” She was born at 30 weeks with the assistance of teleneonatology and medical experts from both Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer, Wisconsin and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Telemedicine is a tool that allows medical providers to consult, diagnose and treat patients at a distance, which improves access to specialty care. Telemedicine helps patients, particularly in rural areas, to be seen by experts closer to home instead of traveling long distances to the specialist. This allows patients greater access to the right care at the right time.
