1965 FORD FAIRLANE 500 TWO DOOR SEDAN - THE POPULAR MIDSIZE FORD

1965 FORD FAIRLANE 500 TWO DOOR SEDAN - THE POPULAR MIDSIZE FORD The Ford Fairlane model was situated in the lineup with the Ford Falcon beneath and the big Ford Custom and Galaxie lines above. The Fairlane 500 was offered in a hardtop coupe with or without bucket seats, a four door station wagon, and two or four door sedans. This well preserved Fairlane is one of 16,092 two door with just over 80,000 miles of use. The base price was $ 2,312 and weighed in at 2,901 lbs. The Fairlane was restyled on a half-inch longer wheelbase now at an even 116 inches. Chrome accents and two tone vinyl upholstery dressed up the interior. Two six cylinder engines were available, either a 200 cube with 120 hp., or a 240 cube with 150 hp. The V8 engines offered started with a 289 with 200 - 271 hp., a 352 with 250 hp., a 390 with 300 - 330 hp., or the 427 with 425 horses. This Ford has a 289 V8 under the hood coupled to a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Other features include seat belts, real nice vinyl interior, power steering, and radial tires. Forget the non-stock after market wheels. At any rate, this Fairlane 500 is stellar in appearance and a good representation of what the Ford Motor Company offered to the consumer back then. Thanks for viewing.
