Black Friday – at first glance, it’s a day-after-Thanksgiving tradition that consumers love and employees loathe - a day full of record-breaking sales and the year’s cheapest prices. In reality, that’s not quite true and, in fact, there is plenty about this so-called exciting holiday that defies everything we thought we knew about it. With much more sinister roots than you might imagine involving chaotic financial crisis, intimidating football crowds and police nuisances. Once a negative connotation, the meaning of Black Friday has been positively twisted over time by retailers, but that doesn’t mean that you should believe everything you hear about it.
