An application with over 1.5 billion user base where every minute you share one of your private pictures, documents, information and passwords, can be hacked!! Scared right? The spyware, named #Pegasus, can be used to hack into any phone through a missed call via WhatsApp, giving the attackers full access to the device – including location data, emails, passwords and the ability to switch on the camera and microphone.
Pegasus is a spyware that can be installed on devices running certain versions of iOS, Apple's mobile operating system, developed by the Israeli cyber arms firm, NSO Group. Discovered in August 2016 after a failed attempt at installing Pegasus on an iPhone belonging to a human rights activist, an investigation revealed details about the spyware, it's abilities, and the security vulnerabilities Pegasus exploited.
