Hong Kong's democrats sweep local elections in snub to Beijing-backed establishment | ABC News

A wave of young, defiant leaders have swept into nearly all of Hong Kong's district councils.

The landslide election victory for pro-democracy candidates is being seen as a snub to the Beijing-backed establishment.

But whether it will lead to the systemic change that protesters demand is not yet clear.
