Proton-M rocket launches two satellites from Baikonur

A Proton-M carrier rocket is launching the Eutelsat 5 West B communications satellite and the first MEV-1 satellite servicing spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The communications satellite is set to replace Eutelsat 5 West A spacecraft providing digital and television services primarily in the French, Italian and Algerian markets. The MEV-1 spacecraft is the first commercial servicing mission for SpaceLogistics, a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems (NGIS).
