Molly's nails are two feet long. Her story is about how she grew them out and what it's like to have them.

Actually happened Molly wanted to become famous ever since she was a little girl but she had no idea how. She'd fancy herself a renowned figure skater or gymnast. She tried writing poetry that would throw the classic authors into the shade. Of course, none of her endeavors succeeded. She was too lazy to do sports every day without fail, and she certainly didn't have the talent to rhyme.

She found her way to fame where she least expected it, when manicure and nail design became one of her hobbies. Molly loved taking care of her fingernails. They had a very nice natural shape and the nail plate was so strong that they didn't usually peel or chip. A layer of simple nail polish would hold for weeks.

After Molly noticed this, she stopped trimming them at all. She used growth enhancing nail soaks and strengthening lotions. And it hit her: she's going to have the longest and best-groomed nails in the world. That was 10 years ago.

It wasn't always a piece of cake. When Molly was doing the dishes, her nails would get stuck in the sponge and risk breaking. And that would surely be terrifying! The very thought felt like a stab in the chest. Eventually, Molly had to quit housekeeping entirely. First, she purchased a dishwashing machine. After she could no longer manage her hair, she cut it short so that it was easy to comb and didn't need elaborate styling. She's got people to help her now. A housekeeper does all her chores, a cook prepares her meals, and a personal stylist does her hair and make-up. The hardest thing for Molly to do is putting on warm clothes, so she's replaced gloves with fur muffs. She doesn't keep her cash in a wallet because it's extremely difficult for her to open. But she did learn to type on a keyboard and on her phone. She spreads her nails out so that they don't get in her way.

Not all of Molly's neighbors are sympathetic. As soon as she leaves the house, everyone's watching her get in the car and close the door. Plenty of onlookers are outright mocking her unhealthy hobby. Some of the old women spit in her direction. Even the teenagers that she's known since they were infants laugh at her now and call her Wolverine. Little children cry at the sight of her nails. Molly certainly doesn't enjoy any of that but she tries to reassure herself: this is just the flip side of the fame she's been striving for.

But not everyone thinks ill of her. Sometimes, people in the supermarket will approach Molly and ask if they can touch her amazing nails or take a selfie with her. She was invited to participate in the Amazing People Contest that was organized by her city government. Naturally, she attracted a lot of attention and won a nice prize.

Molly often recalls how surprised her nail technician was when she visited her for the first time. As the girl was laying her tools out on the table, Molly was sitting with her hands down. But when Molly put her incredible nails in front of her, she almost fell out of her chair and asked in a small, stuttering voice: "W-what is this?" Molly deadpanned that "this" was her precious nails that needed to be put into shape. The girl got down to work. She was filing and wiping and filing again. Then she applied nail polish and painted designs over it. Molly could see she was pretty tired but she had to finish her job.

Finally, 10 hours later, she wrapped it up and started calculating how much Molly owed her. Her eyebrows rose in astonishment at the figure but Molly was quick to reassure her, saying she knew how much her work was worth.

This girl visits Molly regularly now and she's always happy to see how much her nails have grown since the previous procedure.

Lately, Molly's main objective has been to simply keep her nails intact. She needs to preserve them at all costs. She's pretty much developed a phobia of breaking her nails. And apparently she jinxed them! Just recently, she fell off her bicycle and broke one of her pinkie nails! She cried so much, saying she'd rather break an arm or a leg. Her family replied that she'd gone completely nuts. But Molly couldn't deal with her grief. Thankfully, one of her friends advised her to get a nail extension until it grows out again. This is Molly's secret now.

Molly thinks of her nails as the achievement of her life. Her current ambition is Guinness World Records. She's hoping to get on the list and become world-famous one day!
