BREXIT DEAL VOTE: MPs 'shattering trust in democracy' - Lord Justice

MPs are "shattering trust in democracy" by paralysing the delivery of the referendum result, the former Lord Chief Justice has claimed.

Lord Judge said the "crucial issue" in the debate over Britain's exit from the European Union is no longer the terms of the withdrawal agreement, but the "profound damage" to the public's confidence in their politicians.

Lord Judge insisted that the "chilling" lesson of history is that disillusionment leads to citizens being "beguiled" by individuals and parties which they realise could lead the country to even greater "political chaos and uncertainty".
