Two further cases of newborn babies being discarded have occurred in Samoa in the past month prompting public outrage.
Diplomatic negotiations between the Government of Samoa and the Government of Malaysia, has seen the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele negotiate the release and return of a Samoan woman responsible for giving birth and dumping her baby in a
restroom trash bin at the National Monument grounds in Kuala Lumper Malaysia.
The Prime Minister says a dead newborn baby abandoned in a toilet rubbish bin in a foreign country by a Samoan national raises serious concerns for the Government of Samoa.
The Prime Minister explained to TV1 Samoa that abandoning a child in this manner is no different to murder.
He explained that 33 year old Samoan woman was taken into custody and detained by Malaysian Police she received medical treatment at Kuala Lumper hospital.
The deceased baby was examined at the same hospital where a full post mortem was conducted.
It’s understood the woman was attending a Health training course in Malaysia and had arrived in the country on the 1 st of September.
The following day while on a group tour of the city is when the incident is alleged to have occurred.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the woman responsible will face the consequences of the law for her actions.

In relation to the discovery of two babies here in Samoa in the past month the Prime Minister said it is really hard to understand the situation of the woman and family involved.
Last month a baby was found floating at a river mouth in the village of Laulii.
On Saturday a newborn baby was found in a rubbish bin at Mulifanua wharf.
