After over 10 years in this house & getting frustrated with the wardrobe doors coming off the metal tracks every so often, I took a proper look at them with a torch.. and to my surprise found a plastic wedge that should have been locked into place.. none of the casters had this pushed down(!!).. maybe it was the previous owners having a joke ;) Your doors might have a similar clip that you need to push into the track & lock.. not sure how common this is, so feel free to let me know in the comments.
