With commodity prices so low it only makes sense to store grain and hold out as long as possible in hopes of marketing at a better price. The issue is we are literally out of storage and it is more cost effective for us to pile it on the ground than to pay storage fees at our local elevator. This is not the first time we have dumped grain on the ground and likely won't be the last. Our dry climate spoils very little grain left outside.
