The video has some tips and strategies to become organized during you PhD. There are few steps which research students can take to get organized during their PhD or research study. In order to get organized, it is important that you make a Master list of everything which you have to do or which you want to do. Then from this list you can make weekly to-do lists or even daily to-do lists if you want.
Another important skill is critical thinking. Critical thinking has two important pillars, the analysis and synthesis. But before this as a research student, you should be able to evaluate the source of the information. If your source is a textbook or a journal paper then it is authentic but a website or a crap eBook cannot be considered as an authentic information. Then you should be able to analyze the information. Analysis means breaking down into components and synthesis means combining the information from various sources and making a conclusion.
Another important skills for research students is managing stress. Stress is a response of the body when there is some important task you have to complete but you could not finish it yet. The stress is good in a sense that it makes you focused on that task but this only happens once you understand what that you are stressed.
Another skill for research students is communication. In order to speak effectively you must also be a good listener. This is explained in this video that how would you know that you are not a good listener.
At the end the most important skill of "learn how to learn" is explained and why this is so important in this digital economy.
