Travel expenses for Government ministers topped £220,000 in 2018

Travel expenses for Government ministers topped £220,000 in 2018 Government Ministers spent over £222,000 in travel expenses in 2018. Of this, £83,000  was spent by the Chief Minister, mostly on Brexit related trips. This is around £20,000 more than 2017.

A quarter of Mr Picardo’s expenditure last year, over £21,000, went on VIP lounges.

Government statistics detail this spending was across 15 separate, publicly funded trips.

However, the overall picture is incomplete, as some of the Ministers’ expenses for 2018 are not available on the website.

Katy Docker has the story.
