Outdoor kitchen backyard transformation installing footers, utilities and drains: Part 3 Outdoor kitchen backyard transformation installing footers, utilities and drains: Part 3. What's going on guys Blake Hawthorn, it's his turf. Tonight we're going to be looking at footers, utilities and drains and something unexpected that happened in the process. Welcome guys to Friday night hardscapes. Tonight is part three of this 10 part series that we're doing on hardscape projects. If you haven't seen part one or two, be sure go back, check these out:

Part 1:
Part 2:

They started the design process and we're gonna be going all the way through the finished project reveal. What we're going to be jumping into tonight is the footers, the utilities, and the drains. All of this must be installed before we can start setting forms and pouring our patio. The first thing that we're going to do is reroute all of the existing irrigation. This in tells capping and moving sprinkler heads, relocating valves, and pulling all the irrigation outside of our patio space,
Next thing we do after the irrigation is rerouted is starting our drainage for this project. We installed six-inch diameter pipe that we're putting in for the splash pad, and then that runs up and reduces down into a four-inch pipe that ties into our channel drain that's going for the basement door and then our channel drains go inside the kitchen area. So unfortunately while we were digging this, we actually got into groundwater that was leaching from the lake.

We hope that you are enjoying this series taking an in-depth dive into a full hardscape project. Make sure to watch this series from the beginning.
