Mount Rainier Summit - July 2019

Mount Rainier Summit - July 2019 At 14,411’ (4,392 meters) Mount Rainier is the tallest point in the Cascades, and the 21st most prominent mountain in the world. This video takes you along the Paradise - Camp Muir – Disappointment Clever route to the summit. Native people call this mountain Tahoma, or Talol meaning “mother of waters”. The slopes of this dormant volcano contain the largest glaciers in the contiguous U.S.A., with more than 93 feet, (28 meters) of snowfall having been recorded in a single year. Climbing to the summit is an exhilarating experience, requiring mountaineering skills and physical fitness. Witnessing this mountain firsthand can be a spiritual experience as well, as the extreme power and grandeur of nature will overwhelm and confound your senses. Standing upon the summit of this mountain can change the way you perceive the world and its creation.
