Mother admits to driving high with kids, who managed to take keys away

Mother admits to driving high with kids, who managed to take keys away SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A Cincinnati mother is facing several felonies after admitting to driving while on drugs with her two children in the car. They were rescued after frantic 911 calls.

Constance Lintz had her 10 and 16-year-old children in the car with her. Fortunately, the kids were able to get the keys from their mother and call for help.

Lintz was arraigned in Hamilton County Municipal Court Wednesday morning. Police say they found heroin, fentanyl and cocaine in her purse.

On the 911 call, Lintz's 10-year-old daughter directed police to her location on the side of Winton Road in Springfield Township. The daughter told the dispatcher she argued with her mother, who kept falling asleep.

A passerby also called 911 saying Lintz's mother was aware of the situation and was looking for her and the kids. The children also told the dispatcher their mother almost wrecked the car but they were able to get the keys from her when she pulled over. That's when the kids called their aunt, who then called police.

Caller: My niece and nephew called me. My sister is an addict and they just called and said they were in the car with her, and she pulled over and I guess she's passed out and I'm trying to find them.

Dispatcher: OK. Where did they say they were?

Caller: My niece is 10, so she's trying.

Once at the police station, Lintz declined to take a urine test but admitted that she was high on drugs. Her two children are now in the care of family members.

Lintz is facing a felony OVI charge and two counts of endangering children.
