Tragedy struck early for a young Danny Kingad. Losing his father at just eight years old, the Filipino phenom had no direction in life. In his teenage years, Kingad turned to a life of drinking and partying as he sought out a purpose in his life. However, he finally found his true calling when his brother introduced him to kickboxing. The Igorot warrior was instantly hooked to the sport and showed tremendous promise, enough for the esteemed Team Lakay to take him under their wing. Now, having made it to the global stage, “The King” is on the hunt for his throne as he faces Filipino-Australian sensation Reece McLaren in an epic ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix semi-final contest at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES in Manila.
