While there are amazing sounding Bluetooth 4.0 range headphones such as Master & Dynamic MW07 true wireless (BT 4.2) and Sony WH-1000XM3 (BT 4.2), I wouldn't invest my money in BT 4.0 range headphones because they could be difficult to re-sell. I think BT 4.0 headphones will lose a lot of their value quickly as BT 5.0 offers superior connectivity. I personally wouldn't buy either of those headphones regardless of how good they sound--they both sound amazing--because I've experienced BT 5.0 and the connectivity frustrations of BT 4.0 are eliminated. It's nice having your phone connect to your headphones instantaneously without the need to re-fresh your bluetooth device list in your bluetooth settings menu on your phone. Besides, there are BT 5.0 headphones that sound amazing that you can spend your money on instead.
There are also BT 5.0 headphones that are "good enough" for podcast listening or workouts: Soul X-Shock ($101.87) MPOW AptX BT 5.0 ($25)
