We got June off to a big start with a big big crowd visiting MrMuffin'sTrains and helping us run trains today. One young man commanded a Legacy Bershire in W&LE livery with a long string of hoppers, while a second ran our Lionel Lackawanna Camelback with it's own string of coal hoppers. I was using a pair of I-Pads to run a number of other trains under MTH's DCS control system including both a Premier Niagara and later a Premier Mohawk piloting an expanded military train. For June, I am opening the layout and running trains on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10-3, and also by appointment. While you're in Atlanta, IN, grab a tasty meal at The Choo Choo Cafe, too. On Saturday June 8th, with The Choo Choo cafe serving their Second Saturday Supper, I will be at the layout until 6:00pm.
On Saturday, June 22nd our friends at the Northern Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce are hosting their Midwest Rail Fest in Atlanta 2:00pm to 7:00pm. including lots to do and see and a Fish Fry at the community center. We will also have a live music performance at 4:00pm with railroad songs and then the Atlanta Music Hall live performance at 7:00pm. It's a great day to visit us here in Atlanta, Indiana.
