Organizations are quite adept at declaring what they stand for in their Vision, Mission and Strategy documents, but it's what they say and do on a day to day basis that truly defines its values and culture. And when these values drift from the values of the employees, the ensuing hypocrisy is exposed, typically during a self-made crisis. This is the beginning of the story on how the worst moment in my professional career lead to insights that helped transform a global organization.
