Diverse Screens: Polychromatic, dir. Sarinah Masukor [teaser] "Curating is a creative leadership role and leaders in Australian galleries are most often white, and frequently male."

Polychromatic by Sarinah Masukor is a short documentary that spotlights the challenges faced by emerging curators (Talia Smith, Tian Zhang, Rebekah Raymond and Nanette Orly) navigating these overwhelmingly white spaces, highlighting the importance of bringing more diverse curators into our cultural institutions.

Sarinah Masukor is a writer and filmmaker living in Sydney. In 2018 her short screenplay Cut and Thrust was performed in the inaugural Equity Diversity Showcase. She has been published in Frieze and The Lifted Brow and currently reviews films for ABC Arts. Between 2017-2018 she served on the board of Runway Australian Experimental Art where she co-edited an issue celebrating the work of diverse female filmmakers.

Diverse Screens is an initiative of #DiversityArtsAu with funding from City of Sydney matching grants program and Create NSW. This event has been supported by AFTRS and Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE).
