These delicious baskets ( tarts) is a yummy traditional Russian dessert. These are perfect for parties and weddings. I love them so much, as they are creamy, jammy and have meringue on top. I cannot think of a better combination, these are my all time favourite childhood treats. These mini tart shells (Korzinochki) have a crisp shortbread crust filled with a tart cherry jam along with a delicious meringue. Russian tartlets (shortbread mini tarts) are popular among Russian Pastries and quite an elegant dessert due to its basket-like appearance. They are so easy to make, and you can play with different flavours, jam combinations and enjoy. The tarts have such sandy, melt in your mouth texture and are perfect with each bite! This recipe makes 6-12 tarts depending on the size of your moulds.


Ingredients

For the tarts

200 gr of plain all purpose flour
66 gr sugar
120 gr of unsalted butter
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
200 gr of sour cherry jam (can use any jam you like)

For the Meringue Cream

3 egg whites
150 gr sugar

Для пирогов

200 г муки
66 гр сахара
120 гр несоленого масла
1 яйцо
1 чайная ложка пищевой соды
200 г варенья из вишни (можно использовать любое варенье)

Для Безе Крем

3 яичных белка
150 гр сахара
