‘I am happy’ - Magic Johnson on stepping down as Lakers' president | The Jump

Magic Johnson gives an exclusive 1-on-1 to ESPN's Rachel Nichols just minutes after he announced that he was stepping down as president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers. He says he's happy to be back to being himself and that he feels more free than he has before. He tells Rachel that he didn't tell Jeanie Buss because he would be an emotional mess and that he didn't want to cry in front of her. Magic says that he feels that the Lakers are in a good position and that if the right player comes, the Lakers will be in the Western Conference Finals next year. When Rachel also offers him a job, he says he's happy to come onto The Jump as soon as he can.
